Unfortunately, I believe the grain industry, which forms a large part of our economy, influences the government to include so many grain and carbohydrate foods in our guide. Oddly, there is a strong push to limit sodium in diets, but none at all to limit sugar. We also have a strong sugar lobby. Coincidental? I think not.
