Now that I have reduced my HbA1C they don't want to know how I did it.It must be obvious that it would take years for most people to get their head around GI.I know it did me and I wasn't trying to cope with diabetes at the time.

As you say Kate, so much easier to advise carb reduction. All this "whatever works for you" is fine but doesn't it make them redundant?
Perhaps they should pay us the amount they receive for diabetic patients. I am sure the money would help us achieve even better control.

KathLowcarb team memberhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07961199165290289611noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2600659484694637338.post-88443891256018573552013-09-01T14:38:40.294+01:002013-09-01T14:38:40.294+01:00"Well if it works for you"I do think thi..."Well if it works for you"I do think this is one of the most commonly voiced comments made by GP's and many HCP's. I avoided that and stuck with reducing my carb intake, worked wonders.

KateAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2600659484694637338.post-92026540897531450882013-09-01T11:26:44.020+01:002013-09-01T11:26:44.020+01:00My favourite one was from the practice nurse when ...My favourite one was from the practice nurse when I informed her of my high BG reading early on before they knew I was a type 1

"A blood sugar reading of 33 isn't terrible, what do you expect? you are a type 2 diabetic after all and it can take months or years to get good control"

With HCP's like that who needs enemies ?

Paul Lowcarb team memberhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07961199165290289611noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2600659484694637338.post-63174394642570012232013-08-31T21:04:59.749+01:002013-08-31T21:04:59.749+01:00My GP looking doubtful as I told him I had reduced...My GP looking doubtful as I told him I had reduced my carbohydrate intake and increased my fat intake which had lowered my BG readings "Well if it works for you"

Yes it does work for me and it would work for many more diabetics if only they knew.
SueAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
