We know of many folks who at their own instigation have managed to get their diabetes under control and reduce medication, it is not always needed. It would be a step forward if more GPs, diabetic nurses, research teams etc could put more into the prevention of the increasing epidemic. The study here only focused on 4% of young people aged 18 and under. It is this generation that is showing a much larger increase in obesity and type 2 diabetes. Some have declared it a time bomb, it is slowly ticking away and we need more enlightened and knowledgeable folks to shout loudly and try to drown out the voice that is big pharma.

Regards Clive Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2600659484694637338.post-47252932116463257272013-04-08T14:50:52.340+01:002013-04-08T14:50:52.340+01:00Much more research will need to be done to re-dres...Much more research will need to be done to re-dress the ever increasing numbers in children that are being diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes. Of course who gives this money to support research is important, as research needs to be un-biased, not an easy thing to achieve in current economic times. With any illness something has caused it and isn't it better to know what the cause is to help prevent it happening again. Never easy but anything worth doing does not always come easy. One other thought is also people are so conditioned to thinking that by taking a pill everything can be cured. We have to re-condition our thoughts to looking at what caused the problem in the first place.

Joe
Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
