I get assistance with the cost of medical treatment, test strips and insulin. I never knew how much our welfare system had to offer until diabetes invaded my life. Luckily, I have private health insurance which covered the entire cost of the insulin pump and private hospital admission. Private health insurance is expensive, but essential if you have diabetes I feel. I can't imagine not being able to afford insulin - that would be devastating. I actually do not spend much on insulin, as a low carb diet means my child uses only half the amount of insulin as a diabetic on a high carb diet. Yet another advantage of cutting out carbs!Lisahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07379772909673554487noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2600659484694637338.post-88957282849288665702014-02-28T00:33:46.079+00:002014-02-28T00:33:46.079+00:00"At least in the UK diabetics don't have ..."At least in the UK diabetics don't have to fork out for medications yet!"<br /><br />Oh but I'm sure Dear David is working to remedy that.
