Check into diabetes.co.uk any time of day or night, and you don’t have to look for long to see great news. From the newly diagnosed, to comparative long timers, and almost all are reporting big improvements in their condition and control. Type ones reducing medication, and improving control and BG numbers, type two’s reducing weight where appropriate, and so many reporting a big improvement in lipid numbers. Many reporting non diabetic BG numbers, and a feeling of well being, and taking control of their destiny. It’s great to read and I can feel the joy coming down the wires.
The lowcarb antis have been truly exposed for what they are. Spreaders of fear, rude, misinformed, out of date and desperate. Ken and his clique are a bunch of misfits hanging out at Carbo’s blog, and doing their best to rubbish the forum and its members. Well, as we can see, their days are well and truly over. Some are complete morons, such as Jopar and Bonkers, with nothing better to do. Others are more subtle, such as Phoenix and the Cherub. They fool no one these days, and without the despotic Kenny boy, they are light weights pissing into the wind. How can any sane or honest person recommend a diet of 40 to 60 percent carbs to anyone, let alone a diabetic, as the likes of Dietition Hope Warshaw recommends. Phoenix is an aficionado of the no Hope Warshaw’s of this world, shills for big pharma and the carb addicted. These antis have spent four years of their lives on a lost cause. Next to no recipes or food ideas, next to no information to those that prefer to take control of their lives and shun medication and junk food. The sort of food that leads to type two diabetes, obesity and health problems. The answer so simple, stop eating the foods that raise BG numbers, cause obesity, poor health, that leads to gruesome diabetic complications.
So, a very well done to all the people, that have turned the place around, and made the forum a place of hope and sound information for so many. I am as biased as they come, but it is lowcarbing that has brought all the good news and control. With the taking apart of the NHS as we know it, there has never been a better time to take control of your diabetes with minimal or no medication. Become your own diabetes expert, you don’t have to be a rocket scientist to get to a safe place. Just some weighing scales for you and your food, a carb counting book, a BG meter and faith. Take that leap of faith.
Faith in your fellow man, faith in your own judgement, faith in what your intelligence tells you. If you feel and look good, you probably are good. I am not a religious person, but I truly believe good always overcomes bad, it just takes time. For so long the dietary information given to all, and especially diabetics, has been tainted by big pharma, junk food companies, and total stupidity. Would you treat an alcoholic with more booze, or a heroin addict with more heroin ? Obviously not, but the educated experts tell us to base our diets on carbs. tainted by greed and profit. Don’t become a victim of dietary misinformation and the dross pushed by most dietitions. Always remember, it’s a job to them, to you it is your eyesight and limbs. Eat the food we evolved from, eat the food that your Great Grandmother ate, eat to your BG meter, and you won’t go too far wrong.

Jopar is now implying that a member of DCUK has been lying in her reference to an appointment with a Dietician:

Whatever happened to the Low GI Diet that the antis have advocating for the last four years? phoenix and catherinecherub have both been on line today and yet missed a golden opportunity to promote the cause.
