"Wow, a dietitian who believes in common sense? Who would have thought.
Here in New Zealand our leading nutritionist, Clare Turnbull (actually
she came over from England and stayed) promotes all kinds of rubbish
foods and even does TV adverts for Cheerios cereal."
Start the day with a bowl of healthy fortified starch = sugar. Oh and don't forget, Lions make good house pets. Thanks Lynda for the link. Eddie

Oh dear! I remember my practice nurse at diagnosis recommending these for breakfast along with 2 slices of wholemeal toast(with 'Healthy' Margarine) but with a 30g bowl of these bad boys coming in at 28.4 grams of carbs and 40 grams of carbs for the toast no wonder so many diabetics struggle to reach a safe HbA1c level.

Hi Paul
This is a very high starch food, I often wonder if many dietitians realise starch is sugar as far as metabolism is concerned.
Starch or amylum is a carbohydrate consisting of a large number of glucose units joined by glycosidic bonds.Wiki

Oh goodness me the difference between Franziska's and Clare's views, Franziska for me please.
And I have just seen the post put on above.

Clare Turnbull is well known to the Paleo community in New Zealand. I've given her some grief on my blog as have many others. My husband called her up on a radio talk show and she really told him that what he was doing was basically nuts.
For more on Clare go to Jamie's blog.. lots of stuff here. Interesting too when you realise that a "serving" is so small and most people would serve up at least 3 in a bowl.
