Pseuds Corner. Listing pretentious pseudo-intellectual quotations from the forum of flog.

This weeks star is Touchett

"The kinds of foods I miss are painstakingly kneaded buttery pâte feuilletée (puff pastry) from a patisserie, the basis for beautiful food like goat-cheese and caramelized onion tarts, and banana pain au chocolat.

Sugar is harmful to a diabetic, but I honestly cannot convince myself that when I visited Laduree that I thought the colourful arrangement of sugary macarons weren't beautiful, nor can I stop marvelling at the craftsmanship that goes into handmade sourdough bread at Poilâne.

Between the canteen with its delectable stacks of cheese panini, the window displays of pastel-coloured Easter Godiva confections, the aroma of bubbling soup, the hundreds of people happily enjoying their lunches--curries and Chinese food heaped on noodles and rice--and children on school holidays eating ice cream sundaes and popcorn, without a care in the world,

The more strident folks over at tudiabetes militantly shout down any notions of eating a waffle or tempura, or enjoying a gelato in Rome--a disaster they admonish

For me, food forms a cornerstone of life, not junk food, but occasional pleasures like savouring a steak frites before an opera, or enjoying popcorn at the cinema. I only just turned 31, and in a very visceral sense, it feels like I've already died. It's not been two weeks since my diagnosis, and I'm already tired of life."

Where I come from the above is known as pretentious bollocks. I can remember when the forum was about diabetes. A cakes and commiserations club doesn't describe the joint anymore.

It's become some sort of writers guild with Kman doing the Dance of Death, in a wheelchair, also variously called Danse Macabre (French), Danza Macabra (Italian), Dansul Morţii (Romanian), Danza de la Muerte (Spanish), Dansa de la bullshite to you lot of plebs, see writing this bollocks is easier than you think, even I can do it.

Lots of hugs and kisses xxxxx missing you already love you all sweeties xxxxx

Sounds like a food snob with no idea of what she must do to control her diabetes.
Good luck to her if she feels deprived as she will have to set her sites lower.
