Hello there, I hope you enjoyed yesterday's quiz. Many thanks to all those who read the post and special thanks to those who took time to comment.

~ beautiful Poinsettia ~

Did you know the answers? Well, as promised here are the answers to the seven questions. For ease I have repeated the questions ...

Holly

2. What is the birthstone for December?

Turquoise

3. Where does Father Christmas (Santa) live throughout the year?

Lapland

4. How many reindeer does Santa (Father Christmas) have?

9
Their names are Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner, Blitzen and Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. Read more about the history of Santa's sleigh and reindeer here

5. Which number month of the year was December originally in the Roman calendar?

10

6. Which country gave the world the tradition of the poinsettia as a Christmas flower?

Mexico

7. In what year was Bing Crosby’s recording of Irving Berlin’s “White Christmas” released?

How did you do? Before I researched the answers, I knew five 😊

... and now on to a tasty recipe suggestion, which you may wish to try.

This time I got a sad 2, possibly 5. Reindeer original is 8. Rudolph is added in 1939. Sapphire is also a December gemstone as is blue topaz. Overall, fun quiz!

I was right. I knew everything except turquoise. For once I felt very confident in your test. Usually I feel like the dunce! Love these monthly tests.

I missed the flower question and reindeer. I didn't count Rudolph because he wasn't in the original Clement Moore poem. Fun quiz!

I am so glad you posted the answers - I knew one - how many reindeer did Santa have - lol.

I did not know that you call Santa home lapland. We lived there for 4 years and I never heard that, very interesting. I think the only one I knew was the reindeers names.
