In Praise Of Tea And Coffee !

In praise of tea and coffee,
three poems for you to enjoy, well I hope you enjoy them!

Firstly, if you are a regular reader, you will know that I do enjoy a cup of tea 😀

But I know many readers prefer coffee ...

“A Caffeinated Life” by Shel Silverstein
seen here

I wake up in the morning,
With a cup of coffee in my hand,
I take a sip, I take a gulp,
And I’m ready to conquer the land.

Caffeine flows through my veins,
Gives me energy, gives me might,
I can do anything, I can go anywhere,
With this magic potion in sight.

... and this verse could perhaps be for either, what do you think?

“The Morning Brew” by Unknown
seen here

The morning brew, the morning brew,
The first thing in the day,
The warm and comforting aroma,
And the taste that takes me away.

The morning brew, the morning brew,
The start of every day,
And all the troubles that I have,
Just seem to slip away.

Wishing all readers a happy day.
Did your day start with a hot beverage or something different?

All the best Jan

This is wonderful Jan! I smiled all the way through. My favorite tea will always be one done the British way, but I am enjoying green tea infused with ginger at the moment. It's lovely to sip on a chilly evening. All the best :)

Used to drink tons of tea, but now I drink only water and broth.

Smiling - and yes the last poem could fit either tea or coffee. If my dicey tummy allows it I start the day with chai. Otherwise it is water.

Good to read and bring a smile.
Now I'm off to make a cuppa for afternoon tea, Jan.

I do enjoy a coffee, but it's not the same as tea. Tea really is comforting and a panacea to all that ails us. Really enjoyed this post! Have a nice cup of tea, Debbie

A cup of cold milk first thing and then hot water with lime or lemon during the day.

What a delightful celebration of tea and coffee! I love how you've captured the joy these beverages bring to our mornings. The poems you've chosen really highlight the comfort and energy that come from a good cup, whether it’s tea or coffee.

Shel Silverstein's “A Caffeinated Life” perfectly encapsulates the invigorating effect of coffee, while “The Morning Brew” speaks to the universal ritual of enjoying a warm drink at the start of the day. They both evoke such warmth and nostalgia!

As for me, I enjoy both tea and coffee, depending on my mood. Sometimes it's the calming embrace of tea, and other times it's the energizing kick of coffee. Today, I started with a cozy cup of tea—just the way I like to ease into the day!

Wishing you and all your readers a wonderful day filled with comfort and joy, whether it starts with tea, coffee, or something else entirely!

I'm definitely a tea drinker! And I agree with you that the last verse could be for either tea or coffee.

These are all fabulous Jan. And even though I'm not a coffee drinker, there is never a bad time for a cup of tea. Happy weekend.

I'm mostly a coffee drinker but not very strong. Occasionally I will have tea as that is the preferred beverage of the family. Enjoyed reading all three poems.
