Identical twins don’t have the same fingerprints.
You can’t blame your crimes on your twin, after all. This is because environmental factors during development in the womb (umbilical cord length, position in the womb, and the rate of finger growth) affect your fingerprint.

It's actually slowing. This means that, on average, the length of a day increases by around 1.8 seconds per century. 600 million years ago a day lasted just 21 hours.

Research shows they often just tolerate it for the food and attention. The safest spots? Under the chin, cheeks and base of the ears. The worst? Their belly and the base of their tail – touch there and you’re more likely to annoy them than bond with them.

Interesting facts! I like the fingerprint one. I had never heard that before.

I didn't know most of those. Not to surprised about the twins.
ReplyDeleteHi dear Jan, I knew this about cats, as I love ❤️ them and have had cats 🐈 most of my life. The other two I didn't know. I learned something new....thanks to you.
ReplyDeleteInteresting facts. Earth's rotation might be slowing down, but time seems to go faster and faster!
ReplyDeleteInteresting facts! But I wonder... our neighbourhood stray (?) - well fed - offers his belly to be petted...
ReplyDeleteWe have lots of unconscious bias.
ReplyDeleteInteresting, new them except for the cat one, I always though they liked their belly stroked.
ReplyDeleteI knew about the first two, but not the last one. There's a book called The Age of Miracles (I think) which was published a while back now and the plot involves the slowing of the earth's rotation and what that means for people. It's been a long time since I read it, but I remember loving it.
ReplyDeleteYes ... the earth rotation is slowing down. It is due to old age and being overweight because of an increasing population over the years. Remember, over the years people have come and gone but they never leave the planet! How many billions are there on the planet since the beginning of time? Eventually the earth will stop rotating and it will stop altogether. One half will be constantly dark and cold whilst the other will burn in permanent sun light. Stock up on sun-cream right now just in case.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
Boa sexta-feira e bom final de semana Jan. Obrigado pelas dicas. Grande abraço carioca.
ReplyDeleteFor once, I knew all these - must be a first!
ReplyDeleteHave a good weekend, Jan. Stay warm.
Jan, interesting facts and post.
ReplyDeleteTake care, have a great day and a happy weekend.
...news to me.
ReplyDeleteCute kitten. Mine like the chin runs or behind the ears and they love their belly rubs too. Showing their belly means they trust you :-D
ReplyDeleteInteresting facts, thanks for sharing. Have a nice weekend. :)
ReplyDeleteBelly pets depend on the cat. A cat that trusts you and shows you their belly, doesn't mind a belly pet. But only if they show you their belly, Quill loves belly pets, but he's also dog software running on Cat hardware 😹
ReplyDeleteInteresting Posting!!!!
ReplyDeletehug Elke
i am not a cat person but that was good information for me, both of my adult children have cats. i knew the fact about twins and their fingerprints, but i think they have the same DNA!!!!
ReplyDeleteThere plenty I don't know.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know about the cat stroking. LOL Thanks for that information. Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteThat's interesting about the fingerprints. I didn't know that, but it makes sense.
ReplyDeleteI've never had a cat.
ReplyDeleteWell, you're a fountain of trivia today!
ReplyDeleteHmmm...I did not know these things, Jan. And I hate to think of the number of times I've stroked a cat in the wrong direction.
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed these facts

Hello Debbie and thank you for your comment.
Apparently, although it makes sense that identical twins would have the exact same DNA, this doesn't always happen.

Buen fin de semana para todos.

I stroke ours on the head and they like it. Thanks, Jan. Have a great weekend, everyone.
Hugs.
Knew about the first two but not about the cats. Interesting.
ReplyDeleteInteresante. Te mando un beso.
ReplyDeleteI did know that everyone's fingerprint is just for them, even though with all the people in the world it is hard to believe that everyone can be different, never thought about identical twins.
ReplyDeleteThat is crazy that the length of the day keeps getting longer, some days they feel long enough already :)
My one cat loves to be petted on the top of his head between his ears, the other barely wants you to touch him, only when he wants, so different from each other :). Have a great weekend!
Dog family here but interesting about the cats.
