When the world is all at odds
And the mind is all at sea
Then cease the useless tedium
And brew a cup of tea.
There is magic in the fragrance,
There is solace in its taste;
And then laden moment vanish
Somehow into space
And the world becomes a lovely thing!
There's beauty as you'll see
All because you briefly stopped
To brew a cup of tea.

If you are a regular reader you already know that I do enjoy my cup(s) of tea ... and I find the words in the above poem so apt.
Now of course you may not be a tea drinker; your favourite beverage could be coffee, plain water or something else? If you have a poem about your favourite beverage do please share it in the comments. (You do not have to share a poem a comment will also be lovely to receive, read and share.)
Wishing all readers a peaceful, worry-free, and happy day.
All the best Jan

I'm not a tea drinker, and not a coffee drinker either. I usually drink water, not very exciting though!
ReplyDeleteAunque no soy muy de te . Me gusta el te flor Jamaica y canela. Te mando un beso.
ReplyDeleteDear Jan, I love a nice hot cup of tea!!! Sending you warm hugs and much love from a very, very cold Montreal, Canada!
ReplyDeleteI know this is heresy to many, but tea is the world’s most over-rated beverage!
ReplyDeleteI don't have a poem but I did get two new mugs today. Bigger than cups and guess what? They can be baked in. A personal zuke-sagna could fit. Love tea though also. Really is something peaceful about it.
ReplyDeleteI used to drink exactly one cup of coffee a day then it was tea...had to be Earl Grey. Through the years my taste has changed and I'm mainly a coffee drinker. Many little poems about tea; not many about coffee though.
ReplyDeleteThat is nice, and there is nothing like a cup of hot tea even on a hot day.
ReplyDeleteWater all day long, then wine in the evening ~

When I was growing up. No matter what illness I had or when I was sad my grandma would make me a nice sweet, milky tea.
ReplyDeleteNow I self sooth the exact same way and I remember my precious grandmother.
Drinking a cup of tea is such a treat! I drink it now and then.
ReplyDeleteThe poem is wonderful and fits perfectly.
Beautiful Sunday, hugs Elke
I've always been a tea drinker. Thanks, and for you too. xx
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely day, Jan. Now, I think I'll just make myself a mug of tea :)
ReplyDeleteAnche a me piace tantissimo il tè e nei pomeriggi invernali, verso le 5 non manca quasi mai
ReplyDeleteThere’s something almost meditative about taking a moment for a simple pleasure like a cup of tea. The poem captures that so well. The way a small pause can make the world feel brighter and more manageable. Even if your favorite drink is coffee, cocoa, or just water, it’s the act of slowing down and savoring it that brings that magic. Thank you for sharing this gentle reminder to take a breath and enjoy the little things.
ReplyDeleteBom dia Jan. Raramente bebo chá. Mais obrigado pela dica. Aproveito para desejar um excelente domingo. Grande abraço do Brasil.
ReplyDeleteI am no poet, but I have teas with quotes! The brand is Yogi Tea, I love mine with milk.
ReplyDeleteHello Jan,
ReplyDeleteI like the cute poem! Enjoy your tea! Have a great day and happy week ahead.
It’s a wonderful part of the day.
ReplyDeleteTea keeps the country going.
ReplyDeleteTea first or milk first?
ReplyDeleteThank you for your comment about Blogger difficulties. They seem to have been sorted now - I hope!
God bless.
...tea has never been my thing.
ReplyDeleteI have many books on the subject of tea. I do not take milk or sugar. My two most favourites are Russian Caravan and Constant Comment.
ReplyDeleteThank you Jan. I'm going to go clean up the dishes and then make a cup of hot tea while I wait for the big snowstorm to move in. Which won't be too long from how the radar looks. have a lovely rest of your weekend also, and also start to the new week.
ReplyDeleteI've been drinking Rasberry Vanilla, it is called Lovare and is from Ukraine. I love it. I also love a good cup of coffee.
DeleteI like green tea.
ReplyDeleteI'm a massive fan of tea, all sorts. My tea cupboard is known as beverage corner.
ReplyDeleteI drink an herbal tea in the evenings. I do like the poem. Have a nice day today.
ReplyDeleteI drink mostly water but I like a nice cuppa once in a while. :)
ReplyDeleteGreat poem and very apt. Sometimes there is nothing quite like a good cup of strong tea! Hope you had a great weekend, Jan!
ReplyDeleteI drink one cup of coffee and then hot tea the rest of the day!
ReplyDeleteI do love tea -- not coffee at all! And since it's so cold here, I think I might just go make a cup!
ReplyDeleteGreen teas and herbal teas for me and started drinking coffee again too :-D
ReplyDeleteMilk first always and 'unless the kettle boiling be, filling the teapot spoils the tea'. My mum had a teapot stand with that quote on it and I always abide by it even if just making it in a cup with a teabag. Still put the milk in first though which I have just realised
ReplyDeleteI thought the poem looked familiar 🤣A cup of tea solves problems
ReplyDeleteHi Jan,

I also love tea very much and in winter afternoons, around 5 o'clock it is almost never missing.

Good morning Jan. I rarely drink tea. But thank you for the tip. I take this opportunity to wish you an excellent Sunday. Big hug from Brazil.
Oh I so agree, Jan, as I’m sipping from by pot of tea this morning. Happy tea sipping, and thank you for the beautiful poem.
ReplyDeleteSame wishes go your way too :). I do enjoy my cold black tea, but days like this I don't put any ice in it :)
ReplyDeleteEl poema es bonito, no lo conocía. Yo soy más de café. Besos.
