Are you officially old?

Are you officially old?
Well I am ... I hit 49 a few years ago LOL πŸ˜‚πŸ˜Š

The 10 biggest signs you’re getting old, according to British children

Do you like talking about the ‘good old days’, gardening or drinking tea?
It’s a telltale sign you’re getting old, according to Britain’s youngsters.

A poll of 1,000 children aged seven to 16 found listening to the radio (51 per cent) and watching daytime TV (48 per cent) were other signs of ageing, along with moaning about aches and pains (45 per cent).

The age-old British pastime of moaning about the weather (34 per cent) and doing crosswords (32 per cent) also counted as major markers.

Oh yes, and respondents also decided you officially became ‘old’ when you hit 49.

  5. Ha ha. I taught high school for 36 years and it was always surprising when I student referred to as a teacher as being old, especially as an adult we didn't think of ourselves as old. But this was fun to read.

  9. Gee, I'm OLD but I kinda already knew that because of my aches and pains! 😁
I don't watch daytime TV or listen to the radio so I have that going for me but I am very attuned to the weather - and I admit I do like talking about gardening and the good old days.

  12. There is no way I was old at 49, I was still working at the factory, no time to be old! Now at 73 I finally felt old just last winter.

  14. The body that I inhabit is almost 78 years old, but the brain inside my head still feels like that of a thirty-five year-old. You can be old, but the trick is to stay immature.

  16. I'm officially old, over 49, like gardening, drink tea, reminisce about the old days, moan about the weather, do crosswords, have plenty of aches and pains. There's hope yet though, I don't listen to the radio nor have I succumbed to daytime TV, haha.

  18. Age is in the mind. I hate being reminded of my physical age.

  19. No daytime (or anytime) TV here, but I'll happily put myself in the old (and much wiser) category. I'd rather be old than young again--been there, done that, have the scars, learned the lessons :-)

  22. Love it Jan. When I had my daughter in 2018 I was classed as geriatric and when I was in hospital recently with the ankle injury I was classed as young!

I'd add to that list..when you start asking for furniture for your birthday or Christmas! In Scotland we always moan about the weather and lately I've been moaning about aches and pains! Yup I am old, I feel old certainly.
