I wrote the words below in July 2015
Now today in 2026 perhaps they are more meaningful ... our world is still in turmoil!
"Yes, it's mid-week already and I hope that the week so far has been a good one for you. With many parts of our globe in 'turmoil' sometimes I think we just need to take time out and reflect... I often do this with poetry. Some do not like poetry, whereas others always enjoy reading it. Our youngest when studying English could write a great poem. Should a poem rhyme or not? It's up to the author to decide.
I read this poem recently and quite enjoyed it - I'll share it with you here.
"Life Is For Living"
Life is a gift we're given each and every day.
Dream about tomorrow, but live for today.
To live a little, you've got to love a whole lot.
Love turns the ordinary into the extraordinary.
Life's a journey always worth taking.
Take time to smell the roses... and tulips...
and daffodils... and lilacs... and sunflowers...
Count blessings like children count stars.
The secret of a happy life isn't buried in a
treasure chest... it lies within your heart.
It's the little moments that make life big.
Don't wait. Make memories today.
Celebrate your life!"

ReplyDeleteYou're great at poetry. I wish I was. I'll try writing something soon and post it on my Blog. I find it difficult finding rhyming words for some words. Like what rhymes with "orange" or "Mount Kilimanjaro"? See? Poetry is difficult ... for me.

ReplyDeleteI so agree with you concerning the need for us to take some time to just reflect with all of the conflict and turmoil in our world today.
I wanted to let you know that when I was posting comments on the blog this afternoon that I was doing it from my phone and I accidentally pushed the "delete" button rather than the publish button. I am so sorry because I so enjoyed your comments. My fingers just got in my way. Thank you for your kind words. I'm so glad that you are making memories this summer with family and friends. The older I get, the more I realize just how very important that life is more about the people than the "things". And also thank you for your kind words about my picture of the Salmon and Lemony Stir-fry veggies. That was a meal that we will definitely be putting in our rotation. My husband really enjoyed it.
