Fergus, the man who showed us the way !

No introductions needed for this guy. This is his story. Three years ago, reading his posts was a master class in safe diabetes control. We may have been unlucky to become diabetics, but finding Ferg was one of the luckiest days of my life.

  1. Fergus. The man. The legend.

"The path of the low-carb man is beset on all sides by the starch-ridden iniquities of the selfish and the breadcrumbed tyranny of evil carb pushers. Blessed is he, who in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of high-carb darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost low-carb children. And I will strike down upon thee with great pecans and furious avocados those who would attempt to poison and destroy my low-carb brothers! And you will know that I am low-carb when I lay my full-fat vengeance upon thee."

    2nd Macadamians, Chapter 4, Verse 8.

  3. Yes a fascinating story and surely motivation for the 3 out of 4 Type 1 diabetics who have an HbA1c greater than 7.5 percent. I remember reading Fergus and marveling at his patience in repeatedly explaining to the discredited dietician and Joparus Ludicrous Maximus and others the means for a Type 1 diabetic to regain blood glucose control. Of course there were others – Timo, Trinks, FastEddie, etc. All now gone from the Ken and Barbie forum and the newly diagnosed deprived of their wealth of experience.

Here’s an open request to the Joparus Ludicrous Maximus of the diabetic world. What would you propose to reduce the 3 out of 4 Type 1 diabetics achieving an HbA1c greater than 7.5 percent?
