From Sue, "Ken is away fishing today, hope he catches something"

Ken says "I don't normally use such language but in their case I made an exception. As a friend said to me, "Just tell them where to go." I think I did and very pleasant it was too" I wonder if it was Albert that told him to do it ?

  1. Don't tell me he's using "Ishmael" as a troll name?

  2. Captain Ken
Ken was the Moderator of the D.CO.UK, a grave older man reaching his sixties who has spent nearly forty years as a Moderator, only three of which he has spent outside his bedroom. The novel is essentially the story of Ken and his quest to defeat the legendary low-carb diabetic Moby Dick, for this diabetic took Ken’s Moderator’s post, causing him to use a ghost forum to pass the lonely hours. Ken is a dour, imposing man who frightens his Clique through his unwavering obsession with defeating Moby Dick and his grand hubris. In many respects Melville portrays Ken as barely human, barely governed by human mores and conventions and nearly entirely subject to his own obsession with Moby Dick. Melville describes him in mostly alien terms: Ken is a spectral figure haunting diabetics’ dreams and existing in a place away from the living. He is in some ways a machine, unaffected by human appetites and without recognizable emotion. And most importantly, he claims himself a God over the D.CO.UK, but instead he may be a Satanic figure through his somewhat blasphemous quest against the white whale.

    With Apologies To Melville

  3. No I believe my allusion of Ken to Ishmael is the better one. Ishmael was the biblical son of Abraham and his servant Hagar. He was disowned in favour of Isaac, Abraham’s son with his wife Sarah. An angel prophesied to Hagar. “his hand shall be against every man, and every man’s hand against him.” (Genesis 16:12). The name “Ishmael” has since become used commonly for an outcast, which is appropriate since Ken is inexperienced when it comes to diabetics and is viewed as an outcast to the other posters upon the D.CO.UK

  14. "I think his language was very restrained ! If you ever have the misfortune to speak to me then you will realise just how diverse and colourful the English language can be."

So sugarless sue is even worse than Ken when it comes to using vile nasty and abusive languge, says a lot about her then.

  15. Given the news regarding Ken's angling exploits do you think "FishingforSouls" (on d.co.uk) is another of his Trolls?

  16. "FishingforSouls" cannot be Ken, that person was sane !

  17. Unless "Fishingforsouls" was actually Daisy1,quite appropriate with her tactics of personal messaging d.co.uk members to "see the light" and come with her to the land of 'Ken's Kingdom'! Crazier things have happened in the 'Crazy world of Diabetes'!
