The Men Who Made Us Fat Episode 3

  1. Whilst I applaude the general theme of the series, I found myself shouting at the TV on occasions. In the last instalment the same old cliches were aired, lumping together salt, sugar and fat, rather than looking at the individual components of diet that I feel responsible for the impasse we are at currently.
Sure, some of the worst excesses of the food cartels were exposed to the light of day but not enough and the DH's view was given exposure that was unwarranted. I'm sure most LC enthusiasts are as angry at this organisation as much as they are at 'Pharma', Big Food and all the others who forget the science and promote dogma over fact.
I'm glad it happened but overall it still left me with a sense that more could have been said, more fingers poked into dark corners and more views from the likes of Taubes et al. And of course the major point, that doing the same the things over and over, but with ever increasing vigour will bring about mankinds salvation, when it hasn't thus far was not well made, if at all.
