Sea Angling in North Yorkshire

I returned from Singapore in the summer of 2003. In the winter of 2003 I went sea angling with some of these guys - ONCE!!

We don't use ropes on the South Coast.

  2. By gum it’s tough up north. This northern lad struggles down the cliff by rope, risking broken limbs and even death, in an attempt to bring low-carb food to the table. Even if he is successful in hooking a fish, he must bring the fish through the thick kelp and avoid falling off the ledge. All that’s left is the climb back up the cliffs and a drive over the snow covered moors.

Here’s a live video of anglers perfecting their climbing skills.

Not for this poor northern lad the comfort of sitting by the carp lake in a silk upholstered chair, muttering dark words about dieticians, quaffing champagne, nibbling amuse-bouche (is that low carb?) and using said amuse-bouche as an exotic bait for the carp which are then landed with aid of his lovely female assistant, Janet.

  3. OK John you have me nailed.

Janet loves assisting me on the landing net. She can open a bottle of cool bear and packs a mean lowcarb lunchbox. If I have too many beers she even drives me home. All done at a secure and beautiful private lake.

That's what I call total fishing.

Watered down beer isn't that what you southern softies drink, us northeners are brought up on real ale.
