UK Diabetes Forum in People Trafficking, Tax Haven, Scandal

A UK diabetes forum was today attempting to limit the damage caused when it was revealed that one of its moderators was personally involved in people trafficking and tax haven schemes. The schemes involved in persuading vulnerable young people to move from the forum to a ‘pipe fitting’ site. A HMRC spokesperson explained that once on the ‘pipe fitting’ site the young people would be subject to 'pipe fitting' and a non sustainable low fat diet. The HMRC spokesperson also stated that although pipe fitting site was based in Aberdeen, all revenues were funnelled through the UK diabetes forum moderator residing in Switzerland and as a result the UK received negligible tax revenue.
