Happy Fathers Day

Well it’s Fathers Day here in the UK, and it may well be in other countries, so to all you fathers out there a Happy Fathers Day wish to you! Our morning started with cards, gifts and good wishes being exchanged, a phone call  from one of Eddie’s daughters prompted this. She “is allowing her husband to watch as much sport as he wants to today”. To be fair I didn’t pass any comment but Eddie said “oh that’s very generous of you”. My goodness if I tried to ration Eddie’s sport to just Fathers Day it would be divorce proceedings LOL

Seriously Eddie’s Fathers Day started with him bringing me a cup of tea in bed! Surely as it is Fathers Day it should have been the other way round? The day got better for him, he was served a lovely breakfast low carb sausages, scrambled eggs and mushrooms followed by a cup of gourmet coffee, which was a present from one of the kids, there’s a family joke here but I won’t go into details, but if you know the film pulp fiction !? Lunch was very simple some grated cheese served with a mixed salad. Eddie followed this with a small chunk of 85% dark chocolate another good present. Looking forward to dinner tonight, which will be a roast served with plenty of vegetables and we have some lovely wine which, you've guessed it, was another present from the kids. They know him so well as the song line goes!

Good times and good days it’s what family ties are all about.

All the best Jan

  2. Hi Sue and thanks for your comment. Yes, we had a great day. We always make sure we have time to sit down to a good nourishing low carb style breakfast every day of the week. It keeps blood sugar numbers low and keeps us going through 'til lunch.

  3. Slightly off topic but as it happened on Fathers Day. Great to see Justin Rose win the US Golf, his dad would have been proud.

  4. Yes it was good to see Justin win, his dad used to help him a lot before he died, they were always together on tour I believe, perhaps he was looking down from above, I'm sure Justin thought he was.
