Gezzathorpe on the way to a lowcarb diet ?

Regular readers here will recall the posts made regarding one of the most remarkable human beings ever to post on a diabetes forum. I am referring to the ninth wonder of the world, the amazing Gezza and diabetes.co.uk. Gezza was reporting a few weeks ago, he was a type two diabetic ("now resolved"), holding non diabetic BG numbers, using nil meds and consuming 250+ carbs per day, very unusual to say the least. Even more unusual, was the daily occurrence of hypo’s.

Old Gezza likes changing his forum signature, and the plus sign disappeared from the 250+ carbs total. The signature then changed to 50% carbs on a 2000 calorie per day diet, which still equated to 250 carbs per day. I see his signature now states 58% carbs on a 1500 calorie per day diet, which equates to 217.5 carbs per day. At this rate of carb reduction, Gezza will be doing a 30 carb per day Bernstein diet before Christmas. Hence my question is Gezzathorpe on the way to a lowcarb diet ?

Incidentally, I have noticed the daily dog walks mileage total has increased substantially, from 3 to 4 to 5-6 in a short time. At this rate of increase, and if continued, Gezza may well need some more calories in the very near future. The extremely fixed asset, Mr. Bonkers, may be able to survive on the calorific intake of a three year old (1200 calories) but even the amazing Gezza, can’t survive on 17 grams of cornflakes and a splash of skimmed milk to kick start his day., can he ? Time will tell. I suppose the bottom line is, what is Gezza ON !

  3. tsk tsk! that's the trouble with lying -- remembering all those numbers gets HAAAARD, especially when you get BG-caused brain disfunction!

  4. If only he'd take Bonkers on his 5 mile walks, in one year he'd be 1,825 miles away!
