The report also detains prevalence of chronic kidney disease, mortality and differences in prevalence between the diabetic and general population.


a Two year prevalence is the number of people with one or more complication event during the two years following the audit period (i.e. from 1 April 2010 to 31 March 2012).
b DKA figures represent people with Type 1 diabetes only.

    Sobering indeed, but these things need pointing out. Awareness is the key, then those who care about themselves will maybe get off their arse and do what should be done before it's too late.
