YEP: We’re now making obese crash-test dummies !

A company called Humanetics is now making obese crash-test dummies to better reflect the average size of a human being. The current models were made in the 1980s, when the average human weighed only 170 pounds, Today, that figure has climbed to a startling 273 pounds, which the new crash-test dummy reflects.

  1. And what will the average person weigh in 20 or 30 years time. Something drastic needs to happen to the majority of peoples diet and sedentary lives.

  2. Was 170 pounds and now 273 that is quite a big change. But haven't I read on your blog that children at senior school are now being diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes. Worrying isn't it.

  3. We're making obese crash test dummies, obese size beds in hospitals, obese size ambulance stretchers, obese size aeroplane seats with extra paid because too much room is being taken. Where will this end up. More of us in later life being chronically sick.

  4. Many thanks to Ted, Jenny and Ben for your thoughts on these obese test dummies. It is a sobering thought how the size and shape of many have vastly changed over the years.

Maybe, (I hope) things will improve for the better and many will adopt a healthier lifestyle to aid their health to a better place. I feel this is especially important for the younger generation as Type 2 diabetes, obesity is on the increase among the young.

I know we here on this blog will keep spreading the word that by reducing your carb / sugars and eating whole real food is a good place to start.

    Thanks again

    All the best Jan
