Tim Noakes to face inquiry over 'Banting' tweet !

Prof Tim Noakes will be appearing before the Health Professions Council of South Africa after advising a mother on Twitter to wean her child on low carbohydrate, high fat foods.

The Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) has confirmed to Health24 that Professor Tim Noakes, who maintains that a diet high in fat is actually far healthier than we’ve all been led to believe, will be facing a two-day hearing.

HPCSA communications manager Priscilla Sekhonyana told Health24 the complaint relates to unprofessional conduct.

A hearing will be taking place on 4 and 5 June 2015.

More on this story here.

Yet again, we see the establishment, that has failed totally, in the fight against the epidemics of obesity, and it's often linked type two diabetes, closing ranks. I await the outcome of this hearing. My money is on Tim winning this one.

  1. Let's hope the result is the same as it was in Sweden with the complaint against Annika Dahlquist.

I hope Prof Noakes makes good use of the opportunity to swamp them with the science behind LCHF.

  2. They, probably, really think that cereals are not that bad.
