Bolognese Sauce with Courgette / Zucchini 'Zoodles'

Yes, if you live the LCHF lifestyle you can still enjoy a wonderful Bolognese Sauce, but instead of serving with pasta substitute it for 'zoodles' which are made with courgette's / zucchini.

Anne Aobadia at Diet Doctor site serves her " Bolognese with zoodles and freshly grated Parmesan cheese." She says it is "an easily made wonderful everyday dish. The secret to true greatness is to let the sauce simmer for a long time," ... there now you know!

Ingredients:
6 servings
1 onion
1 – 2 garlic cloves
3 oz. (100 g) celery
1½ lbs (700 g) ground beef
3 oz. (100 g) butter or olive oil
2 tablespoons tomato puré
1 can (400 ml) crushed tomatoes
1 teaspoon salt
2 pinches pepper
1 tablespoon dried oregano or basil
1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
Water, if needed

You can see Anne's instructions and more about 'zoodles' here

When living the LCHF lifestyle there are many healthier food choices - for instance - consider swapping/ substituting pasta for courgette/zucchini, rice for cauliflower, tacos for lettuce, why not read more about this at, 'Just Swap - Doesn't It Make Sense' here

All the best Jan

  1. Oooh, I like that idea. I get a bit fed up with pasta, we seem to go in fits and starts eating quite a bit of it and then eating hardly any at all, so this is a great way to still enjoy bolognese but with a different take on things.
