Aretha Franklin R.I.P
A sad music night tonight after the loss of another sixties icon
Graham
Truly a big loss for so many. Hearing her sing always make me smile, or want to dance or clap or both. A life well lived. She will not be replaced in my opinion. A true talent.
Thanks for the music, Graham. I grew up in Detroit. I don't remember if Aretha Franklin ever officially recorded with Motown Records, but she was as popular as any of Berry Gordy's groups & her music was on the radio just as often. Great songs - amazing how they endure the test of time.

...such a lost.
ReplyDeleteYes....another great leaves us...but her spirit and her music will remain.
ReplyDeleteHer passing is the same date as the King of Rock...the one and only, Elvis. 16th August...the day the music died.
Yes, she really knew how to style a song!
ReplyDeleteMay she rest in peace.
ReplyDeleteThat's very sad.
ReplyDeleteBoa tarde, tudo que nasce morre, a Aretha só desapareceu fisicamente.
ReplyDeleteBom domingo e semana,
