Quote of the week.
“The real hopeless victims of mental illness are to be found among those who appear to be most normal. "Many of them are normal because they are so well adjusted to our mode of existence, because their human voice has been silenced so early in their lives, that they do not even struggle or suffer or develop symptoms as the neurotic does." They are normal not in what may be called the absolute sense of the word; they are normal only in relation to a profoundly abnormal society. Their perfect adjustment to that abnormal society is a measure of their mental sickness. These millions of abnormally normal people, living without fuss in a society to which, if they were fully human beings, they ought not to be adjusted.” Aldous Huxley, Brave New World Revisited

...normal is a setting on your washing machine.
Well now that's food for thought.
Too much of today's "mental illness" stems from the use of drugs and is therefore preventable.
Who is to say what is "normal"...not I.
Something to ponder 💮
I like that one.
Who knows what normal is when it comes to mental status? Something to think about.
Great quote and food for thought ^_^
Happy Day to you,

A very thought provoking article, thank you for sharing it. I hope one day that mental illness will have a less negative effect when mentioned in passing. We really all ought to be more open about the subject, and show people we care.
Interesting.
The thing is: it is difficult to measure what is "normal".
God bless.
Well, it is not normal for me to not know what to say, but alas I am speechless.
What is normal anyway.
Bom dia, a normalidade das doenças e em tudo é relativa, o texto é prefeito, contribui para esclarecer.
Continuação de boa semana,

Thanks for popping by my blog and leaving a comment. I hope you have a wonderful day- Diana
I worked for many years with mentally ill drug abusers. Their stories would break your heart.
Very insightful. ♥
