Eddie and I recently enjoyed a winter walk.
It was quite a cold day and not many people were out and about.
The fisherman had probably been out early, but now their pots were empty!
The Inn looked quite cosy …
but we resisted the fish and chips!
Instead we continued walking, turned the corner
and this is what we saw …
Quite a nice view - well we thought so !
We liked the way the sun was trying to peep through the cloud.
Is that a seagull sitting on the post ?
(all above photographs taken on a mobile phone - so handy to have in your pocket!)
After a while we headed back home, with the image of delicious

A warming bowl of soup is just what's needed after a winter walk. I was hoping to get out today but it's rather blustery to say the least.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great walk, and the soup looks good, too. But I might have succumbed to fish and chips! Enjoy your weekend, Valerie
ReplyDeleteA perfect day for you and Eddie, Jan.
ReplyDeleteYour photos are lovely and the soup looks and sounds delicious!
Hugs
Wow, such a stunning post...thank you so much for sharing!😊😊
ReplyDeleteWe were out walking yesterday too, on Portsdown Hill and around the fort. That sky was so dramatic that I took a photo too!
And that fabulous recipe...just the thing for a cold day like today! Thank you.😊😊
Have a great day!
Lovely photos of a lovely winter walk!
ReplyDeleteThe bowl of soup is the highlight. Nothing like soup on a cold, winter day!
What a lovely place to live. Great pictures. I would love going for walks there. That soup looks yummy.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful winter walk and the soup looks so good.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful walk. I love to head out by the harbour and see the comings and goings.
ReplyDeleteI love soup, especially at this time of year and always take advantage of the cheap vegetables on offer in the supermarket. I made a parsnip soup yesterday and added some thyme for a delicious warming flavour. X
...and I hope that you have many more winter walks.
ReplyDeletethis looks like a great spot for a winter walk!! i could not have resisted fish and chips for soup...i just could not have done it!! BUT, the soup does look good!!!
ReplyDeleteI like the view!! And the soup!!
ReplyDeleteI feel like going for a walk now.

I'm impressed with your photos from your phone. You live in a beautiful place. Only the soup sounds exciting today. It's bitterly cold (-8,9 C) with biting winds where I live. Only fools and news reporters are out in this weather.
ReplyDeletesupposed to be in the 80s here today...and I have to get out and do some yardwork...the sun just came out, so it should be beautiful out there.
ReplyDeleteI wore two trousers (long leggins + trousers) today... I still do and it´s not too warm even inside, it was grey, but we had a nice, long walk also.
ReplyDeleteYour soup looks delicious!
El paseo se ve muy lindo. Feliz 2019.

It looks like a wonderful walk - with a great homecoming too.
ReplyDeleteThose pictures are great.
ReplyDeleteVery brave to resist the fish and chips.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
What a beautiful place for a walk. Your phone takes great photos and the soup looks so good especially after a winter's walk.
ReplyDeleteHey Jan!
ReplyDeleteI love that tree with the lights! I would have been so tickled to see it. I couldn't have resisted the fish & chips! Makes me "homesick" for England to think of them!
Those clouds give things a dramatic touch.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos, Jan, the first really shows a chilly day, but pleasantly chilly.
ReplyDeleteThe soup looks marvellous and I had to go and get the recipe. I have been looking for some new soup ideas to make and this one looks just right for the season, so I will certainly be making it, thanks.
I love seeing your landscape in winter. The soup looks/sounds just about right on a chilly day! Happy New Year to you both!
ReplyDeleteIt sounds wonderful! And the views are so pretty. My husband and I enjoy walks like this one. There is always something interesting to see and enjoy!
ReplyDeleteI don't have a cell phone! They take amazing photos!
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice stoll by the seaside, and finished with a great bowl soup, brilliant.
ReplyDeleteYes, it was good to get some fresh air over the holiday. After all of that turkey and trimmings the thought of fish and chips is very appealing. Knott End Chippy here we come.
ReplyDeleteI sure wouldn't mind a bit of cool weather here!!
ReplyDeleteUma sopa com aspecto delicioso e aproveito para desejar um Bom Ano de 2019 com muita paz.

Thanks for sharing that beautiful walk!! I'm about to head out alone for a chilly walk around the lake. Football is on tv and Sundays are my solitary walk days which I rather enjoy! Beautiful photos - love to see your area.
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous view! Sounds like a wonderful day.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful views from your walk. We went on a walk today, too, so welcome after days when it was too wet to go very far. Soup is such a great meal!
