We had a referendum a few years ago to raise our taxes in order to pay for AC in schools in my city. I said they raised my taxes so kids and teachers could have AC for three weeks at the beginning of the school year, while I had to do without AC all summer in order to pay my taxes. BTW, I STILL don't own a cell phone. I DO have a lovely camera that uses rechargeable AA batteries, though.

ReplyDeleteIt's very different from the old attitude of "use it up, wear it out, make it do, or do without."
