January : Time for the first of the month quiz !

The above image shows the breathtakingly beautiful area of Langdale, in the UK's Lake District.
It runs west of Ambleside up to the Langdale Pikes. Pike is a local term for peak.
It splits into two valleys, Great Langdale and Little Langdale (image from google)

Happy New Year wishes, as we welcome January, the first month of the year, I thought why not start the month with a quiz about January! So here we go with seven questions, why seven I hear you ask?
Well, as January has seven letters why not ask seven questions 😊

If you are born in the first 19 days of January, what star sign are you?
Capricorn, Aquarius, Taurus, Leo

January always starts on the same day of the week as which other month?
June, July, October, November

How many days does January have in total?
28, 29, 30, 31

Which Roman God was January named after?
Juno, Mars, Mercury, Janus

What flower is closely associated with January?
Snowdrop, Violet, Daffodil, Rose

Before January was added to the calendar, how many months were there?
8, 9, 10, 11

Which city’s name translates to ‘River of January’?
Rio de Janeiro, Antananarivo, Khartoum, Buenos Aires

How did you do? Come back tomorrow when the answers will be revealed. 😊

In the meantime can I offer you a coffee (or tea) and a low carb Lemon Cheesecake Cookie / Biscuit ...  they are soft, buttery and fluffy.

1 tbsp chia seeds
2½ tbsp water

1 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp lemon zest

  14. I liked your quiz on January. However, You did not take into consideration that Leap Year changes that, so always does not work for which month starts on the same day of the week as January.
    Blessings and Happy New Year!

    Hello Southern Cafe
Many thanks for your comment here.
Yes, I had based my question on common years and not leap years.
So the answer to the question "January always starts on the same day of the week as which other month?" is October for common years and April and July in leap years.

Many thanks for your visit and comment to this blog.
I hope you visit again soon.
    Happy New Year Wishes.

    All the best Jan
