Happy Wednesday Wishes

Yes, it's Wednesday the middle of the week and in only two days time we will be welcoming April, the year is flying by! We've enjoyed some lovely days during the month of March, celebrating family birthdays and of course last weekend, Sunday was Mothers Day.

I was given some lovely cards and gifts but more importantly it was the time and freedom to see and hug our wonderful family.
It was joy to play the 'old fashioned' board games like draughts, snakes and ladders and Ludo. At one point a pack of cards was found and 'Go Fish' was played ... not a computer game or phone in sight, just the joy of having lots of fun and laughter together. Yes, more happy memories were made, this Grandma and Grandad had big happy smiles on our faces πŸ˜ŠπŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ŠπŸ˜ƒ

Today though, it's some household chores and shopping, we need a few more vegetables. Among many other items broccoli and peppers, especially red ones are on the list, oh yes, some mushrooms too ... mustn't forget those!

I wonder have you a favourite vegetable?

Whatever you have planned today, I wish you a good one.

All the best Jan

  1. It sounds like you had a wonderful Mother's Day. As for favourite vegetables, there's so many at the top of my list, savoy cabbage, kale, parsnips, tenderstem broccoli amongst others.

  2. Thanks Jan. Yes we have enjoyed some gorgeous weather over the last few days but with April round the corner I think it's going to be more soups and casseroles than salads with the drop in temperature.

  3. Have a wonderful week.
I like a lot of vegetables but a good (and preferably home grown) tomato is right up there with my favourites.

  10. Thank you. I think this is the first time I have replied to this. I have had a very busy day. Sadly and bad for my health I spent three hours driving! On the flip side I have spent the day with my four year old granddaughter. She had ballet lessons this morning, then we went to sushi for lunch and finally home to cook something for her to take home. In between this little one has been very good when she needed to be good and after more days of rain she was just delighted to be outside exploring and running. We live in Southeast Queensland, Australia the last few weeks have been wet, wet and more wet. Fortunately no flooding for us but is is tiresome to be indoors when you want to be outside. Mean while granny is worn out.

Very pleasingly this little failure to thrive child has been eating all day. Talk about couldn't keep up an thinking she must be going through a growth spurt. The most unusual food of the day was her eating the tobeki fish eggs at the sushi shop. We had to buy more milk late today.

  12. Glad you had a nice Mother's Day with your family. I'm not a huge fan of vegetables. I eat them because one has to, but not a big fan.

  15. Thanks for the good wishes for today. My favorite veggie is spinach, which I eat practically every day. For other veggies, I like most of them roasted, it makes them taste so much better, I think.

  16. With regards to vegetables, we've just made lasagna with artichoke, mushrooms, and asparagus. Delicious! It's better that lasagna with meat.
Enjoy the rest of this week!

  17. So glad you enjoyed your Mother's Day, Jan. That's why I don't have a cell phone. No texting or game playing on MY phone! Sounds like the perfect day for you two.

You don't have to ask me what veggies I like. The only one I don't like is Okra that has been boiled in gumbo. Fried okra is fine. I love the fresh veggies best. You have to cook potatoes, etc, so if I can eat something without cooking it, I am a happy camper.

    Happy Wednesday.
