That was the weekend !

Didn't the weekend go quickly!
We had some lovely sunshine with blue skies

but oh my...
also a very heavy early morning frost
which made the roads and pavements very white and slippery!

During last week many parts of the UK had flooding!
Some parts had snow.
Well it is January ... we have to be prepared!

~ Wherever you live stay warm and safe ~
(If you are in the southern hemisphere, I hope your weather is not too hot)

Eddie and I enjoyed a quiet weekend, and managed to get a few household bits and pieces done.
I think seeing the sunshine gave us extra energy and we soon got through everything.
Mind you, perhaps it was the tea and coffee break we enjoyed, that gave us an added spurt!

But there again it could have had something to do with the -

Leek and Chorizo Frittata
it's delicious 😋
you can see the recipe here

... and finally sharing these words from Dale Carnegie
(as seen on Life is Good blog)

You have it easily in your power to increase the sum total
of this world's happiness now. How?
By giving a few words of sincere appreciation
to someone who is lonely or discouraged.
Perhaps you will forget tomorrow the kind words you say today,
but the recipient may cherish them over a lifetime.

~~ xx ~~

I hope you enjoyed your weekend.
May the coming new week be a good one for you.

  11. A sunny weekend is just so full of joy! After our horrific weather since Christmas we finally have sunny and drier days - it is lovely. I spent the last couple days working in the garden which I couldn't do because it was so incredibly wet. The leek and chorizo fritata sounds delicious.

  14. Anche qui in Italia in questi giorni sta facendo molto freddo e ha nevicato anche in pianura.
A me piace la neve ma comprendo bene che soprattutto in città causa dei disagi

  18. The weekends always fly by. We saw some blue skies but it was bitterly cold. We had a couple of drives out into North Yorkshire where there was a hoar frost, so pretty but too cold for me.

  19. Things are cold but not freezing here in Texas. 58-60*degrees for the highs.
    Missing getting my gardening started.

  26. I'm glad you had a productive weekend. And it certainly is nice to see some blue sky! (Wish we would!)

  27. sorry to hear about the flooding, we have some predicted bad storms coming up this week, nice that you had some clear skies and sunshine for some of it, that always lifts my spirits and I get more done around the house :)

  28. We love frittatas! Everyone has been complaining about the price of eggs recently but we found a store that is selling them at a reasonable price. The avian flu epidemic affecting chickens seems to be lingering longer than usual this time around.
