Cheeses, we are spoilt for choice.
Do you have a favourite?
I do enjoy most cheese, especially Cheddar.
All the best Jan
It's a hard choice! I love sharp cheddar. Before my son became a stay-at-home-dad, he was a cheese monger for a specialty cheese store.
ReplyDeleteThat is crazy! I would never have suspected that.
ReplyDeleteI love sharp cheddar but swiss is close behind.
I love medium, strong and extra strong cheddar, Swiss cheese, Brick, Emmenthal, Brie, Mozzarella, mild cheddar, Feta (occasionally, just in a Greek salad). Great share, thank you so much!
ReplyDeleteAmo el queso. te mando un beso.
ReplyDeleteI'm not surprised that cheese is often stolen. It's so tasty. We mostly have cheddar in the house but occasionally we get another kind. One we don't care for is the blue.
ReplyDeleteI did not know!!!
ReplyDeleteI like all types of cheese, except blue cheese and gorgonzola. But I have my favourites: Swiss, Emmental, Jarlsberg, Cheddar, Ricotta and Burrata.
What food would I take to a desert island? Bread and cheese !
I remember reading this:
ReplyDelete"In a notable cheese heist, approximately 22 tons of cheddar were stolen from Neal's Yard Dairy in London in late October 2024. The heist involved a fraudulent buyer posing as a wholesale distributor, leading to the theft of over 950 wheels of cheddar. The stolen cheese was worth over £300,000."
Mmmm, cheese. I love Swiss cheese.
ReplyDeleteI love medium cheddar with everything. I do enjoy Parmesan and many other cheeses. Practical Parsimony
ReplyDeleteI love cheese, and yet I refused to even try it when I was a child :)
ReplyDeleteA great article, I love cheese, now I won't feel guilty when I have that little bit extra. Thanks, Avril x
ReplyDeleteI do like most cheese (except Swiss cheese). I had no idea that cheese was the most stolen food stuff. Thank you for adding to my trivia collection.
ReplyDeleteDear Jan this is striking information for sure

ReplyDeleteHow extraordinary! I love cheese, too much . . .
ReplyDeleteI did not know there was a black market for cheese.
ReplyDeleteI do love cheese! Have a great day and happy week ahead.
I didn't know that, and it's surprising, isn't it? I do love cheese though, Wensleydale is my absolute favourite.
ReplyDeleteI like cheese and don't have any favorites. I love many varieties and buy it from the farmer. I pay attention to the processing... it tastes better.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes to you and have a happy week.
Had no idea that that much cheese was stolen, amazing.
ReplyDeleteI'm a cheese fan.
I've heard this. In Canada we had a great syrup theft. That was a tale.
ReplyDeleteI had heard of fake Italian parmesan and English cheddar, but not of stolen cheese. Interesting information about such illegal phenomenon.
ReplyDeleteThat is definitely news to me. I prefer Colby-Jack.
ReplyDelete...news to me!
ReplyDeleteThat's mad! I would not be stealing any cheese haha! :-D
ReplyDeleteI love cheese! All kinds of cheese - from feta to good old provolone:) But please no blue cheese. Ugh. Here's to a cheese sandwich for lunch today!
ReplyDeleteI did not know that fact. I love cheese - probably a little too much.
ReplyDeleteSo interesting! -Christine cmlk79.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteI didn't know the cheese facts and I love cheese. Thanks for sharing, Jan.
ReplyDeleteI had no idea.
ReplyDeleteI love whatever is the sharpest cheddar one can find!
ReplyDeleteInteresting about the cheese crime. Who would have thought!!
ReplyDeleteOh I like lots of cheeses, but my favorites are edam, cheddar and mozzarella.
Oh my goodness. I didn't know that. That's a funny thing to have get taken. I do know that cheese is considered one of addicting foods so I guess that makes sense that it gets knicked.
ReplyDeleteI do love all kinds of cheeses but I will say that pepper jack has been my favorite lately.
ReplyDeleteMe encanta el queso, en España los tenemos buenÃsimos. Tampoco sabia que robasen tantos quesos. Besos.
