I'm sharing these beautiful peony blooms, I hope you like them. Peonies are often described as aristocratic plants and only have a brief but keenly anticipated flowering in late spring to early summer. They are bowl-shaped, white, cream, pink, yellow or red flowers which look so beautiful and are often spicily scented.
All the best Jan

These are gorgeous, Jan. Have a very nice day today.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely last weekend of May :-)
ReplyDeleteIt's so true, the days just fly by!
ReplyDeletePeonies are one of my favorite flowers. We have buds on ours, so the flowers will be coming soon!
So beautiful flowers!

ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful photo. I just got my carpet cleaned and want to decorate even further. I'm thinking of some flowers like this. Thanks for sharing.
My mother used to have peonies just like these in our yard. I can't recall what happened to the plants.
ReplyDeleteHow gorgeous, Jan!
ReplyDeleteLOVE!!! i have a lot of peony pictures i will share next week!! this one is a beautiful color!!
ReplyDeleteBuen fin de semana. Te mando un beso.
ReplyDeleteLovely flowers.
ReplyDeletePeonies are so very beautiful. I only have one. It's a white one and it is blooming right now.
ReplyDeleteBeing spicily scented I wonder if peonies are related to carnations which is where cloves come from I think.
ReplyDeleteWell I just googled and no they do not. Cloves come from the Indonesian evergreen native Syzygium Aromaticum tree.
ReplyDeleteI did not realize peonies came in that beautiful color.
ReplyDeleteI love this beautiful peony! Thank you, dear Jan—wishing you, too, a lovely last day of May and a wonderful Sunday! hugs Elke
ReplyDeleteIt waas cold and raw today, not flower weather
ReplyDeleteBeautiful flowers, haven't any growing in my garden unfortunately.
ReplyDeleteI adore peonies, thanks Jan and all the best! Enjoy your Sunday and I wish you a very happy June!
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful they are! Happy June sweet lady!

I love peonies the national flowers for China (not that I live there)
ReplyDeleteThose peonies are gorgeous Jan. I know. I can't believe tomorrow it is JUne. I hope you are having a wonderful end of May and also have a nice start to June too.
ReplyDeleteWhenever I see peonies I'm reminded of the time over 20 years ago when we were moving into a house in a town where a good friend lived. We were coming from Alaska and the friend had looked at the house for us, so we bought it sight unseen. She had the keys when we got to town and she'd put a gorgeous arrangement of big blooming peonies on the built-in bookshelves so they were the first things we saw when we walked into the house. I can still see them in my mind. I think peonies will always be associated with that memory for me :-) I hope June begins in a wonderful way for you, Jan, and goes on that way throughout the month and beyond :-)
ReplyDeleteWe are celebrating King's Birthday weekend so a long weekend here. Peonies are rather lovely aren't they, I always think of them as being blousey.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful flowers. I hope your last weekend of May is lovely.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week ahead.
Trying not to think about how it is already nearly the middle of the year and the days will be shortening again, just as I am starting to love the early dawn! I only have one peony in my garden but they are lovely flowers.
ReplyDeleteThe time is flying by. Beautiful peonies, I'm still waiting for mine to bloom, there's buds but no flowers as yet.
ReplyDelete...it is indeed peony time here. Jan, enjoy your weekend.
ReplyDeleteYes, there is something very special about peonies. I do really look forward to the tow sets of peonies that I have . Your photo is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteLovely blooms!
ReplyDeletePeonies must not grow well in my area because I never see them. They are gorgeous. I'll have to check that out. Maybe I could be the first to try?
ReplyDeleteDear Jan!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for your wishes.
I wish you a wonderful, sunny June full of positive energy! May it bring you lots of joy, wonderful moments, and a wonderful vacation.
Hugs and greetings.
I blinked and the month of May went by! Enjoy the rest of your weekend.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful flowers! May has been interesting. I wonder what June will present.
