Baroness Barbara Young UK Number One Drug Shill ?

Baroness Barbara Young is the chief executive of the charity Diabetes UK, the UK’s largest and most prominent diabetes charity. DUK trots out rehashed articles every few weeks. Anything to get the newspaper headlines, anything to keep the cash rolling in, anything to keep their big pharma and food company sponsors happy. Last week she was flogging statins.

“It will often be appropriate to prescribe medication such as statins, but it is no good doing this without explaining the importance of taking the medication regularly and the potentially devastating consequences of not doing so.”

If you check out what DUK euphemistically call acknowledgements, (link below) you will see a comprehensive list of the worlds leading statin makers. You don’t need the brains of Einstein to figure it out, big pharma pays DUK to sell their drugs. That would be fine if statins were useful and beneficial to most people, but of course they are not. Every week more Doctors are throwing doubt on not only statin drugs effectiveness but on the life threatening and changing side effects.

It’s very easy to see why the Doctors are on safe ground who question statins. Dr. Malcolm Kendrick has stated statins may change what is on  your death certificate, but you probably won’t live any longer. Amazing eh, is Kendrick a genius ? Does he know what others do not ? Err no ! It turns out he can read. The best selling drug in pharmaceutical history, according to Pfizer is Lipitor a statin drug. Pfizer state "there was no significant differences between the treatment groups for all-cause mortality.
Well, that's a bit of a shocker ! The drugs do nowt ! but the side effects are many.

The last word to Allen Roses.

Allen Roses, worldwide vice-president of genetics at GlaxoSmithKline (GSK), said fewer than half of the patients prescribed some of the most expensive drugs actually derived any benefit from them.

"Try specsavers."

Your alert about my post being pending is not the most obvious thing in the world.
I tried to post twice, having not noticed it first time.
Don't know how it got into this area.

It won't happen again, your honour
