Fergus April 2008 still valid today !

Guys, the shocking truth is that this is the standard of advice still on offer to all diabetic patients courtesy of the NHS and DUK. It's criminal.

It is clear to many of us based upon our own experiences, and there is abundant evidence within the scientific community, that current dietary advice is seriously misguided. But it's equally clear that alternative dietary approaches are far more successful at normalising blood sugar and reducing the need for medication. So why aren't these alternatives offered to patients? Wouldn't it be medically negligent not to make diabetics, or everyone for that matter, aware of the options?

The sceptical view might be that there is big money to be made by the food industry and the pharmaceutical industry in maintaining the status quo, but no profit in a healthy, unmedicated population.

I think we do a grand job in at least discussing the issues. There are many diabetics whose health has been greatly improved as a result. Perhaps one day our numbers will be large enough to take a stand?

Diabetic neuropathy is damage to nerves in the body that occurs due to high blood sugar levels from diabetes. Symptoms often develop slowly over several years.

And still are as a result of blogs like this and forums who allow open discussion.

IT IS CRIMINAL THAT IT STANDS FAST TODAY IN 2012

Low carb for so many is the only safe way, do please give it a try if you haven't done so already.

What have you got to lose? NOTHING

What have you got to gain? EVERYTHING

You only have to look around the low carb blogs and forums to see the improvements that can be achieved.

Without the knowledge and help from Fergus we would not have found the way to safely control our diabetes through LC for that we will always be grateful.

Good to see your still around Dave, still not succumbed to all the dire consequences of LC predicted by ally et al then.

"So where is fergus?"

Well it's Friday night so Fergus could well be drumming with his band Land Of Cakes.

Eddie has been in touch with Fergus recently so he will be able to give you more info.

As an aside please note Fergus is spelt with a capital, like many low carbers he's not afraid to use his real name.

Fergus' experience convinced me.

See his article in "Sweet" magazine here:

Note the DUKKY comment - "Don't try this at home" not without professional advice but as one wrote "finding a diabetic dietitian is like finding a vegetarian butcher."
