Are the Scots Following Duggie’s Road to Perdition

The appalling NHS statistics for blood glucose control in England and Wales have been presented many times on this blog. The question arises are the Scottish results as bad?

From:

The report indicates that the % of diabetics with HbA1C > 7.5% (58 mmol/mol) has an increasing trend over 4 years  concluding in 2012 with Type 1: 78.5% and Type 2: 40.3%

A most telling comment in the report on page 3:

"The Survey reports that 39.3% of people with type 1 diabetes have poor glycaemic control."

This is the   % of Type 1 diabetics with HbA1C > 9.0%, Clearly they do not regard HbA1C > 7.5% (58 mmol/mol)  as out of control!!!!!!!!!!!

Is there a Scottish Duggie? What is the Scottish equivalent of Pot Noodles?

  2. Appalling statistics not only in the UK but the States in fact globally.
Something of a radical shake up is needed.
Definitely not pot noodles or mars bars.
