Recipes do not have to be complicated to taste good. Take this one for example. Simply baked chicken drumsticks … always a winner!
Ingredients
Serves 2/3
5 - 6 chicken drumsticks
garlic powder
pepper
salt
olive oil
Directions
1. Put some olive oil in the bottom of a 9 X 13 pan (just enough to put the drumsticks on).
2. Add drumsticks (space enough apart so they aren't touching each other).
Sprinkle generously with pepper and garlic powder. Sprinkle lightly with salt.
3. Bake at 375º F 190º C gas mark 5 for half an hour. Turn drumsticks over and add more garlic powder, pepper and salt (same as before).
4. Bake for another 20 to 30 minutes … or until cooked.
Serve
With vegetables of your choice...
Some may like parsnips, others may prefer buttery mashed swede, or how about small chunky pieces of roasted celeriac bites.
Then there is green beans or Brussels sprouts or steamed broccoli - choices, choices!
... now what will you choose? It may be a vegetable I've not mentioned!
Such a great and simple way to enjoy chicken drumsticks.
~ enjoy your day ~

Enjoy the last day of September!!
The skin is the best part :-)
I love chicken breasts, but have never been fond of the chicken dark meat.
Thanks for the delicious, simple recipe... I'm always happy when it's like this!

Lovely recipe, Jan. Love drumsticks.
They do look good. We eat lots of chicken, usually breasts or thighs though. There's just so many different things you can do with chicken but the simple dishes are often the best.
Chicken is always a favourite over here.
God bless, Jan.
The chicken looks delicious!
Take care, have a great day!
Simple and appetising never fails.

Hello and many thanks for your comment/question.
I'm sure chicken wings could be used instead of drumsticks ...

This sounds good and easy. My favorite two things regarding recipes. For life itself, honestly! Take care. x
I completely agree—simple recipes that taste great are the best kind of cooking. It’s funny how a good sprinkle of garlic powder can make such a difference on chicken.

Oh, Jan! That chicken looks absolutely delicious! We will be giving it a try very soon!
Oooh and easy chicken recipe. Thanks
yummy
i love drumsticks cooked this way...so the flavor of the chicken shines through. it looks like they may be cooked with potato wedges?? but i am not sure...the flowers are so pretty, i love all flowers in any color!!
You know, it's only been fairly recently that I've been able to get chicken parts other than boneless, skinless breast fillets or whole chickens in the Irish places we've lived. Now I can get drumsticks, leg quarters, and boneless, skinless thighs. It's nice to have those options.
Es un buen segundo plato, para una buena comida.
Saludos.
Can never go wrong with garlic on anything. :-D
I made baked drumsticks the other night. I like them and this sounds good too.
Simple and so delicious. A wonderful selection for an autumn meal. We're having chicken thighs here this evening.

Hello and many thanks for your comment.
Yes, chicken drumsticks cooked this way is so good and the joy is you can cook vegetables of your choice to suit your tastes and dietary requirements.
I quite like root vegetables such as swede/rutabaga, parsnip or celeriac but others may prefer a few potato wedges or why not sweet potato ... so much choice.
Then of course there are green beans, broccoli ... even the humble cabbage.
A plateful of good food ... quite Yum!
All the best Jan
