Jan has been given strict instructions. If I get to this stage, she has been told to wheel me up to the edge of Beachy Head, with a large bottle of Jack, and leave me there.

OMG, communicating with a person at the death door! It is very sad.
I assume she/he is a diabetic with an access to the insulin syringe. Probably, in a desperate situation like that, the easiest way out would be the OD of insulin. Am I wrong?

Well, spending last days on forums doesn't seem reasonable, but people are different. If somebody is goofing around pretending to be dying on a forum - it is really spooky.
At the moment we have two family members with an advanced Alzheimer in my family - my grandma who just turned 95 and her sister 93 years old. Looking at them, my mother, uncle and their cousins are scared of own possible extreme longevity and what their future may look like. My mom eats a LC diet, I hope it will keep her mentally healthy for years to come.
Unfortunately, alcohol is something I have to avoid the more the better. If I had to choose the drink for my last days, it would be cranberry Absolute.

You have our sympathy. Jan's Mother died from Alzheimer's a few years ago aged 84, the cruelest illness of the lot I reckon.
It does not have to be, Grahams Mum died recently aged 97 and was mentally sharp and active to the end.

His last days are adding up. He has been posting rubbish since November. Multiple Organ failure is usually a swift death.
The only organ on the way out is between the spoofers ears I reckon.

I a way Jan is lucky that due to your diabetes she follows the same diet as you do, even though I am sure she would wish you ware perfectly healthy. It should contribute the protection against Alzheimer and other age-related illnesses in a future. Naturally thin people have tendency to eat sweets and breads without giving it a second thought. Dr. Mary Eades told Tom Naughton that it was particularly hard to convince thin diabetics to drop carbs.
