1) Avocados are a fruit, not a vegetable.
I hope you enjoyed these five facts - did you know any of them?
They are technically considered a single-seeded berry - more here
2) Australia is wider than the moon.
The moon is 3400 km in diameter, while Australia's diameter from east to west is almost 4000 km - more here
3) The Ancient Romans used to drop a piece of toast into their wine for good health.
Hence why we raise a toast - more here
4) A chefs Hat has 100 pleats.
It's meant to represent the 100 ways to cook an egg - more here
5) The worlds longest walking distance is 14,000 miles.
You can walk from Magadan in Russia to Cape Town in South Africa. It requires no flying or sailing - just bridges and open roads. Map showing walk is here to date no-one has done this walk!
I only knew 1) and 4)

...Jan, I must say that I never gave these any thought.
I didn't know any of them. I'm most shocked by the moon and Australia!
Never knew that. 100 pleats in a chef's hat for the 100 ways to cook an eggs!! A toast! Thanks!
wow these are such fascinating facts. Thankyou. I learnt something today. Have a great week and thankyou for visiting my blog last week.
Dear Jan, I did know about avocados but learned new things thanks to this post. Beautiful flower 🌼 🌸 photo.
I knew that avocados are a fruit but didn't know they are a berry.
Wow! I'm not surprised no one has done that walk when you look at the distance on a map and some of the regions it runs through. I didn't know any of these facts, fun.
I am fascinated by the route of the longest walk. Like you I knew 1 and 4.
Russia to Africa, that is a long walk.
Love the crocus.
Take care, enjoy your day!
Thanks. No. 4 is very interesting.
Yes it is true, Australia is so big that you can see the moon from anywhere you stand.
God bless.
Didn't know these, even the one regarding Australia, and what a walk would that last one be.
I only knew number 1. Number 4 was fascinating.

Almost forgot, beautiful flowers too :)
I didn't know these.
I did know about number one, but not the rest...so I learned something today. :) Thank you! And I certainly have been enjoying your pictures of spring flowers...the daffodils yesterday and the crocus today. xx
I knew number one but none of the rest.
That would be quite a walk!! :)
I didn't know most of these.I wonder why chef hats need to have 100 pleats. Or I should say, I wonder why the original designer picked 100. Thanks for these fun fact.
Fun facts and very interesting. Thanks.
I knew no1. I was surprised about Australia being wider than the moon.
I did not know any of them. I didn't know there were 100 ways to cook an egg.
That is so cool that you could travel that far and not need to fly or use a boat to get there. I get sick flying so I would rather drive anywhere I go :)
I did know about avocados and the walking sounded familiar but unsure about that one. The others were all new to me!
The only answer I knew was the avocado one. Now I know a few more interesting facts. 😊
I've heard that about Cape Town to Magadan.
