Charlie is serving one of the longest prison sentences ever in the UK prison system, over forty years, most of this time in solitary confinement. He has never murdered anyone, raped women or harmed a child. Clearly he has been a dangerous man, but I believe he has been let down badly by the system. So many men who are mentally ill end up in prison, a dumping ground for people we do not understand. They rot out of sight and out of mind. One thing you can say about Charlie, he won’t be going quietly.

"Just to keep everyone updated on the totally incorrect article in the Daily Mirror, who wrongly stated that Charlie had been moved to Wakefield due to a fight with 12 prison guards, we have now taken our complaint to the Press Complaints Commission. The 'Journalist' Steve White has advised us that this means the Mirror will not now print a retraction or an apology, as the PCC investigates."
