The appalling NHS statistics for blood glucose control in England and Wales have been
presented many times on this blog. The question arises are the Scottish results
as bad?
From:
The report indicates that the % of diabetics with HbA1C
> 7.5% (58 mmol/mol) has an increasing trend over 4 years concluding in 2012 with Type 1: 78.5% and
Type 2: 40.3%
A most telling comment in the report on page 3:
"The Survey reports that 39.3% of people with type 1 diabetes have poor glycaemic control."
This is the % of Type 1 diabetics with HbA1C > 9.0%, Clearly they do not regard HbA1C > 7.5% (58 mmol/mol) as out of control!!!!!!!!!!!

mars bar deep fried
Appalling statistics not only in the UK but the States in fact globally.
Something of a radical shake up is needed.
Definitely not pot noodles or mars bars.
