The Bitch is Dead.

"Her legacy is public division, private selfishness and a cult of greed that together shackle the human spirit"

I sat drinking my whisky in Singapore and saw British policeman charging  down on British citizens.

John

Hi John I am going to add a bit to your post I hope you don’t mind.

For me Thatcher represents all that has gone wrong with our country. She was the chief architect in the third world ghetto that is fast becoming the once Great Britain. A free for all of greed and corruption. Banks that are too big to fail and continue to this present day to rob and steal from the people. Politicians that are corrupt to the core, and are only interested in selling off the peoples assets to the highest bidder, while they accept Directorships in the same companies. Destroying the best healthcare system in the world, while they buy up shares and take up board positions on private healthcare firms. The best of our young people, leaving University up to their eye balls in debt, and heading for unpaid internships and minimal wage jobs in fast food joints. I could go on and on, but for me, this is Margaret Thatcher’s legacy. The most evil and destructive politician in UK modern political history. For balance I should add Tony Blair runs a pretty close second place.

May she rest in peace, but many of our generation will not forget or forgive.

Do your articles on Ketogenic diet and diabetes research cause as much public division as "The Iron Lady" ? The answer to me folks is "yes" no-one ever agrees on everything and the UK is greatly divided on Margaret Thatcher. I would still pass on condolences to her family, whatever view you hold, she was a mother and grandmother.

OMG Just checking the computer before turning in and I saw this - take it you didn't like her John.
I think there may be a handful out there who may disagree

It looks like Americans, among who I live now, especially Republicans, see Margaret in much more romanticized light.

Just to say I concur fully with John's and Eddie's sentiments.
The politicians coming out praising her are making me reach for the sick bag. Apparently, she cared for this country. Wrong. She cared for HER vision for this country, the people living here didn't matter.
