Forgive Me When I Whine

Each and everyone of us have days when we may moan or whine. Yes, some do have serious cause to have a whine, but many of us don't!

“Forgive Me When I Whine”
-Author Unknown

Today, upon a bus, I saw a lovely girl with golden hair,
I envied her….she seemed so beautiful….and wished I were so fair.
When suddenly she rose to leave, I saw her hobble down the aisle.
She had one leg and wore a crutch; but as she passed….a smile!

Oh God, forgive me when I whine,
I have two legs. The world is mine!

I stopped to buy some candy. The lad who sold it had such charm.
I talked with him. He seemed so glad. If I were late, it’d do no harm.
And as I left, he said to me, “I thank you. You have been so kind.
It’s nice to talk with folks like you. You see,” he said, “I’m blind.”

Oh God, forgive me when I whine.
I have two eyes. The world is mine.

Later while walking down the street, I saw a child with eyes of blue.
He stood and watched the others play. I stopped a moment,
When I said, “Why don’t you join the others, Dear?”
He looked ahead without a word, and then I knew he could not hear.

Oh God, forgive me when I whine.
I have two ears, the world is mine.

With feet to take me where I’d go, with eyes to see the sunset’s glow,
with ears to hear what I would know….

Oh God forgive me when I whine.
I am blessed indeed. The world is mine!

If you've had a bit of a trying day, or perhaps trying times, just maybe these beautiful flowers will help you smile a while, I do hope so.

i like this.we complain about our small problems when in some parts of the world people can't live in peace or find it difficult to get food to eat.

So true Jan, we are all guilty of feeling sorry for ourselves at times, we have no idea! Have just enjoyed a look back at missed recipes, so good! I was wondering if you have a low carb recipe book out and if so how do I purchase a copy, if not can you recommend one Jan?

It's a poem which certainly makes you think. I always try to remember that whatever problems I think I have, there's always someone worse off than myself.

Makes me stop and think. I am so grateful for today and that could awake and see that beautiful sunshine. Must count my blessings and be mindful of others less fortunate.
Happy Sunday

Jan, what a wonderful reminder, shame on me for ever whining! What joys surround us every single day, little miracles are always present. Thank you for this.

There's always something to whine about and there's always something to be grateful for. You can't really enjoy one without the other.

We all whine sometimes- but it is good and important to put things in perspective. :)

In part of her comment Grace at Perth Daily Photo says:

Many thanks for the question. Some years back now Eddie and I did start work on a low carb cookery book, but it got put on the back burner (as the saying goes) and is still there!

We do have a low carb recipe site, which again for one reason or another has not been updated for a long time! http://lowcarbdietsandrecipes.blogspot.co.uk/

There are many recipe books and internet sites that I use and refer to for the recipe suggestions you see on the blog.

Sites like Diet Doctor https://www.dietdoctor.com/
Ditch The Carbs http://www.ditchthecarbs.com/

In more recent years people are becoming so much more aware of the Low Carb, Higher (Healthy) Fat lifestyle or LCHF for short - which is great.

I know that my own recipe pile gets higher and higher, but I do have a few key recipes that I go to time and time again. Depending on your food likes and dislikes I would suggest you start your own file of favourite recipes. Enjoy discovering and cooking great tasting whole fresh food.

All the best Jan

Very moving.
I had a very trying day yesterday!
I will accept the flowers. They made me smile.
When I whine about my little pain, or my concerns, I try to stop and think of others, some close to me, who are not doing so well.
Thanks!!

We need this reality check every now and then that is for sure, things can always be worse, even though at the time of going through trials it is hard to see that!
Wishing you a fabulous week ahead!!
