Moving House - I've Made You A Low Carb Cake !

How many times have you moved home? It is quite a stressful time isn't it. I've found a few of the most important things to pack are a kettle, some cups, some tea bags and milk so that when the time is right you can sit down in your new home and enjoy a cuppa.

Of course if you should happen to know someone who could make you a nice cake to welcome you into your new home wouldn't that be nice too!

Well blogging friend Martha is moving - and I promised that I would send her a piece of low carb cake (virtually speaking of course) - but here it is and I know she likes cherries!

Low Carb Black Forest Gateau
If you'd like to make one here is our low carb recipe idea.

Ingredients:
100g ground almonds
1 teaspoon baking powder
2 large eggs
1 tablespoon of melted butter
2 tablespoons of double cream
2 tablespoons of cocoa powder
100 grams of pitted black cherries

Method:
Mix all dry ingredients in a bowl.
Melt the butter I used a Pyrex jug, add the eggs, cream, then add the dry ingredients and mix.
Pour into a 6" microwave proof dish. Microwave in a 700watt for 3 minutes. Allow to cool and cut in half. Spread on extra thick cream and 100 grams of pitted black cherries. Serves 6.

To Martha - hope the move goes well
To anyone who may be moving soon - good luck and be happy in your new home

All the best Jan

We've been in this house for twenty three years now, moving was so stressful that I vowed I'd never do it again in a hurry. Perhaps that mouth watering cake would have eased the stress a little, it does look good. Good luck to Martha with the move.

I've moved quite a bit in my time. The most important stuff to pack (and remember where you packed it) is the toilet paper and hand soap and a towel....glasses for water......remember where your phone is and the number for pizza take out.

Moving is a great excuse to eat cake and have a "cuppa"...this cake looks and sounds yummy.
Martha will be busy moving today but I am sure that she will enjoy this "virtual" cake and its cherries :)

I confess, I at first thought they were Kalamata olives. And as much as I like those. . .

Oh that looks delicious. I'd sure like a piece of that to go with my ice cream I'll be eating in just a little while!!

Ken and I have moved 12 times since we've been married. The first thing we do is get the bed set up in the new house because it is the last thing you want to to at the end of moving day. : )

The cake looks and sounds divine. :)
I too find moving rather stressing, even though there are also many advantages, like a thorough cleaning and de-cluttering.
Wishing you all a happy weekend! xx

Oh thanks so much for this one too Jan. Using those black cherries is also a plus... hubby loves them as well as I. It looks luscious too, would be proud to bring this one out for visitors! Cheers now :D)

Oh, how kind, Jan! Thank you for this 'sweet' gesture. And for this lovely recipe! We are happily in our new home and in our new city. There's still a lot of work to do but that's okay!

We've lived in our little home for nearly 20 years now, I can't imagine moving.
Cake is always welcome through our door!

Looks delicious! Black Forest is my favourite cake. I would crush the cherries though, for easier slicing and eating.
