Autumn is a wonderful season, I love seeing the trees and countryside change colour. The browns, the russets, the oranges so many wonderful colours for the eye to see and us to enjoy. I often find you don't have to travel far to see some lovely Autumn shades and if you are fortunate to have a nice dry day to enjoy that walk ... even better!
Here in the UK the National Trust have been encouraging people to take part in this year's Great British Walk. It takes place at National Trust properties all over the country from 8 September to 24 October. You can discover orange clad hills, woodlands of golden leaves, blue evening skies and if you're lucky some red squirrels along the way. There are many different walks you can go and enjoy. Of course you do not have to go on a National Trust walk, why not enjoy a walk around your neighbourhood. After an enjoyable Autumn Walk I get home, step into the kitchen and put the kettle on ... you just can't beat a nice cup of tea or coffee, and a slice of low carb lemon cake, find the recipe details here

I always wondered about the National Trust and someone recently said it was a charity. I like that they save old buildings and land for future generations. We in the states used to have something like that, but most of our virgin land is being swallowed up by large conglomerates now that our govt. is no longer eco friendly.
That cake would certainly go well with a brisk walk. It would also look lovely on that plate, and with that cup and saucer you showed.
Hi Jan, I'm back from a long blog break. This is a gorgeous tea cup/saucer. The lemon cake looks delicious and I love walks in Autumn! This is my favorite season, but it is still very hot here.
Oh those gorgeous Autumn colours. A walk is always enjoyable - and a cuppa with a slice of lemon cake would be lovely :D)

Didn't know about the National Trust promotion so will take a look, thanks. Yes, we are getting the mosst beautiful vibrant colours in the woods here at the mo in sunny Surrey. Cake looks delicious, just the job after a long walk!
Autumn walks are the best. The NT are known for good tea and cake too so a perfect combination all round.
