'Keep taking statins' says drug body ! That's the MHRA the UK's number one drug shills !

People should continue to take statins because the benefits do outweigh the risks, according to fresh advice from the UK's drug safety body.
The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) has intervened due to the ongoing debate around the harms of taking statins.

It is important to note that although the MHRA is a government organisation, it is not funded by tax payers - the regulation of medications part of the MHRA is funded by the pharmaceutical industry. This can be seen in the FAQs on their website. I think that people should be aware that the organisation that licenses medications in the UK is funded by the pharmaceutical industry. This obvious conflict of interest should be placed at the end of every statement that they publish. This information in red taken from here. Hat tip to Indy for the link.
The drugs reduce levels of cholesterol in the blood, lowering the risk of a heart attack or stroke.
They are taken by about seven million people in the UK.
The MHRA said statins prevented 450 heart attacks, strokes, or deaths for every 10,000 patients taking the drugs over five years. (no proof that is a fact Eddie)
Potential side effects of statins include:
  • Type-2 diabetes
  • Muscle pain
  • Headache
  • Nausea
  • Insomnia
  • Liver inflammation
  • Kidney problems
  • Blurred vision
  • Nerve damage

To state the obvious the hard sell continues, they need the money to keep coming in, what a shame so many obvious side effects people suffer are ignored.

I have found an OVER THE COUNTER cholesterol "blocker" However I am from the U.S. so you may have to search online for this it works for me !! it costs @ $15 U.S. it is natural and is sold at WalMart. it uses PLANT STEROLS to "block" cholesterol absorption through the intestines into the body. I am no salesman, doctor, or natural cure-all freak. I just
'stumbled" on this and tried it and my blood test results came back good enough for my doctor to get off mt high cholesterol readings !!
