Thanksgiving 2024

Here in the UK the Countdown to Christmas continues. Christmas Cards are being written, Christmas Gifts being bought … and possibly you've got some food in the cupboard or freezer waiting to be consumed over the Christmas festivities.

Of course if like me you have American friends and bloggers they have been getting ready for Thanksgiving Day, which is Thursday 28th November. For blogging friends in Canada they have already celebrated theirs! You can read more about Thanksgiving here

Wishing all readers who may be celebrating Thanksgiving a Happy Day,
and wishing all readers a Happy Day
Good luck and good health to you all

All the best Jan

Thank you for this lovely post Jan. I will thoroughly read the link very soon. Like many in the US have been doing, I started the preparations for our Thanksgiving meal early this morning. Thank you also for visiting my blog and wishing me a Happy Thanksgiving. Your wishes were very much appreciated. It will soon be time for sending the Christmas Cards. I probably should have done that before now, especially with my overseas ones. I hope the rest of your week goes well my friend.

I've bought my Christmas Cards, only a few as people don't seem to send them these days which is a shame. Have the Christmas puddings done and a few other things, have to make some Rum Balls before too long.

I have noticed, with interest, this year in particular there is a surge in Thanksgiving in the UK. I have seen Thanksgiving stamps, dies, and craft paper on the theme. Are we at the start of a new trend? For me, it will always be Harvest Thanksgiving in Sept/Oct.
Enjoy your day, Debbie

Thanks for the well wishes. I'm cooking a smaller version at home for the hubby and I today. Tomorrow we'll have our family version. I hope you have/ or I should say are having a wonderful day.

Thanks, Jan! This is one holiday we kept when we came to Ireland. We had our dinner at lunchtime because a friend joined us and this way he was able to drive home in daylight :-) And now we have leftovers for the weekend! Woo hoo! Hope you're having a lovely Thursday!
