These sharp yet sweet fruits are at their best in late summer, although many shops/supermarkets have some already. In British folklore, it was believed to be unlucky to pick wild blackberries after Michaelmas, on 29 September – so make the most of them while you can! They’re best stored unwashed, on a layer of kitchen paper in the fridge to prevent them crushing each other.

It tastes great!!
Me gustan las moras. Te mando un beso.
We had a picnic at our church today and realized there were blackberries growing wild on the edge of the property. Yum!

I don't think I have ever had blackberries before, but this looks very good.
Wild blackberries are delicious and healthful!
That looks SO good. I'll have to show it to the cook in the house.
Blackberries are beginning to ripen here and as they are invasive and grow in every uncared for corner, we have good access to them. One must wear long sleeves and trousers, and be prepared for scratches. Those brambles are sharp! I like to freeze them for cobblers and make jam with them.
I love sour fruits as well as sweet ones.
i love Balckberries , great recept!!!
Happy weekend, hugs Elke
Our blackberries - brambles, really - are ripening.
Certainly delicious, Jan.
Very good. I picked half a kilo of them this morning.
Bom dia, bom sábado e um excelente final de semana. Não é uma fruta típica do Brasil, mais já tive a experiência de comer. Obrigado pela excelente matéria. Sentindo falta dos seus comentários. Grande abraço carioca.
Blackberries are a favorite as they are flavorful and not so sweet. This looks delicious!
When we first got to Ireland, the town we lived in had blackberry bushes everywhere. We picked a lot of them and froze some. When it's time, I need to remember to bring a container with me when I'm out and about because there are a lot of blackberries growing along the way when I'm out and about--especially on the way to the library. Yum!
I've been picking, and eating, ripe blackberries off the bramble I have on the allotment for the past couple of weeks. They're really early this year. xx
Hi Jan,
I love blackberries.
Thanks for the recipe.
Have a great weekend
Hugs and all all the best

Yummy!
Yummy
Delicious - I like any kind of cobbler.
They are tasty. I have a blackberry bush in the garden. Still waiting for the fruit! :-D
I love all the berries.
I have a freezer full of organic, hand picked blueberries. We go to the farm every other year and stock up.
Opps for some reason I read blueberries. Blackberries grow wild in my back yard. LOL
They've always been one of my favorites!
Looks fantastic Jan, one of my all-time favorite desserts.
Blackberries are ripe here as well. I made low-sugar jam with some this week.
Dear Jan!
I have blackberries in my garden. I must make this delicious dish.
Hugs and greetings.
Blackberries are delicious and one of my favorites. What a lovely dessert.
It's looking delicious the blackberries. Have a nice day !
Love them, but can't stand how pippy they are so use them to make jelly. I have wild brambles all over my property, can't get fresher than those! I freeze them to make jelly in the winter months for a vitamin boost, and it's delicious dissolved in hot water with lemon and brandy or whisky. I open freeze the best looking ones for garnishing deserts or Pavlova.
Blackberries are delicious in a crumble I love it
Not sure if here in United States have clotted cream. I like it up.
I do enjoy a fruit crumble and this version looks delicious. I smiled when I saw the dish the portion of the blackberry crumble was in - I have a set of those along with the larger fruit bowl. Not used then for a while though. 😊
Blackberries are my favorite berry!! :-)
It's definitely blackberry season here in Scotland, so this post is perfectly timed. A low-carb, gluten-free, and sugar-free cobbler is like a fantastic way to enjoy them without any guilt.
I wonder if I could substitute blueberries, hubby likes them better. Our friends grow these and she is always making something with them

Hello Connie and thank you for your comment and question.
Yes, you can use blueberries in a cobbler/crumble recipe and there is one on the link below that uses lower carb ingredients:-
