Quote of the week !

"The NHS diet advise is not all bad but seems to be misinterpreted by some. Despite what some may say the NHS diet advise is based on fact and scientific research unlike opinions which are based on repeating inaccurate anecdotes."

From Mr. Bonkers here. That old med's pusher never gives up.

That would be the 'fact' that it's built on a lie about 'arterycloggingsaturatedfat.'

The best scientific research would be to eat according to what eating carbs does to your meter readings, and adust accordingly.

Eating to your meter - good name for a forum ? Not really : (

Bonkers' usual approach - use 'dismissive' terms, such as 'anecdotes.'
Gotta do better than that, Sid.

The NHS dietary advice for diabetics is why we see the gruesome NHS stats repeated year after year.The NHS is as clueless as Sid !

Results for England. The National Diabetes Audit 2010-2011
Percentage of registered Type 1patients in England
HbA1c >= 6.5% (48 mmol/mol) = 92.6%
HbA1c > 7.5% (58 mmol/mol) = 71.3%
HbA1c > 10.0% (86 mmol/mol) = 18.1%

Percentage of registered Type 2 patients in England
HbA1c >= 6.5% (48 mmol/mol = 72.5%
HbA1c > 7.5% (58 mmol/mol) = 32.6%
HbA1c >10.0% (86 mmol/mol) = 6.8%

Sid's standard response to any suggestion is infuriating; he basically says 'listen to the NHS advice' (which inevitably is 'eat plenty of starchy carbs') and then says he controls by not having plenty of starchy carbs.

He is either too stubborn or stupid to acknowledge that there might be a contradiction there...

My money is on Sid being as thick as a plank. Mind you he is medicated up to the eye balls.
