Will you be sitting down to enjoy a nice Sunday Roast? Maybe if the weather is nice it will be a delicious dinner followed by a lovely walk around your local park. The Spring flowers are starting to appear and some of the early blossom trees are looking good.
Of course it may just be a lovely lunch and a quiet sit down …. Relax and watch some sport.
However, you spend your Sunday have a lovely day and you may want to give your Brussels sprouts an extra zing by adding some pecans.
Have a look at this quick and easy recipe idea for a Brussels sprout side dish.
Ingredients
Serves 4
1 pound Brussels sprouts trimmed and halved
½ cup pecans finely chopped
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 clove garlic finely chopped
Salt and pepper
Method
Heat oven to 200 C / Regulo 6
Using a large rimmed baking sheet toss the Brussels sprouts, pecans, oil, garlic, and season well with salt and pepper. (You can either toss all the ingredients in a bowl before you put them onto to baking sheet or carefully toss them on the sheet however you prefer.)
Turn the Brussels sprouts cut side down and roast until golden and tender about 15 to 20 minutes although ovens can vary so check.
Adapted From Original recipe idea here
Have a great Sunday
All the best Jan

I know you want to be politically correct, but why use olive oil when there are much better oils like butter, coconut oil and lard :) Or my personal favorite: bacon fat which is just yummy with sprouts.
Adding nuts to roasting vegetables is a nice idea. I shall try it with Cashews or Raw Peanuts.

I think a variety of nuts could be adapted, will certainly try this.

I am the only member of the household that likes Brussels sprouts so might have to wait for Xmas. They may not like them but are all very traditional regarding Xmas day.
